Thinking about giving to Caesar what is Caesar's and giving to God's what is God's...in the Scriptural account, Caesar whats the Denarius, the real thing, not a facsimile. If they had copy machines or digital cameras back then, it wouldn't do to send a photocopy or a digital picture of the Deanrius -- Caesar would find such copies 'detestable'. And I use that word because the Word says that God can find our prayers, sacrifices and incense detestable. They can be poor copies of what God really wants -- our hearts and minds -- the true images of God we are to give Him.
